Bajpe, Mangalore: A new chapter in Mangalore’s tech and education ecosystem was launched on June 2 with the inauguration of Sunshine Sapling, a state-of-the-art IT and training centre in Bajpe. Conceived as a hub for innovation and skill development, the centre aims to prepare students—especially from institutions like IITs and NITs—for industry-ready careers and value-driven entrepreneurship.
The event began with a warm welcome by Mr. Vinol Savio D’Costa, Director of the initiative. Dignitaries, guests, and partners took part in the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, marking the formal beginning of a purposeful journey in education, collaboration, and empowerment.
To make the occasion even more special, Vedamurthy Laxminarayana Asranna from Kateel Shri Durga Parameshwari Temple, graced the event with his presence and offered blessings to the building and its new beginnings.
Ms. Lavita Dsouza hosted the event, ensuring the seamless flow of the inaugural ceremony and engaging the audience throughout.

“Business with a Purpose” — Mr. Valerian Dalmaida
Mr. Mr. Valerian Dalmaida, Business Adviser and Visionary Entrepreneur, was the first to address the gathering. He outlined the ethos behind Sapling Multi Venture, defining it as a “business for purpose” that seeks to build institutions, infrastructure, and most importantly, trust and people.
He recounted how the journey began in Mangalore and expanded into Sapling Multi Ventures and Sierra Learning Academy, both of which focus on delivering community impact alongside business growth.
Creating Value-Driven Professionals Rev. Fr. Dr. Dionysius Vaz SJ
The Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Dr. Dionysius Vaz SJ, Provincial of the Karnataka Jesuit Province, delivered an inspiring speech focused on purpose-driven leadership. Greeting the audience with, “Good morning, Sunshine family,” he praised the initiative for its role in nurturing value-based professionals.
He highlighted Mangalore’s strengths—its banks, institutions, hospitals, and airport—while pointing to the challenge of retaining local talent.
“ Sapling has the potential to change that by creating real opportunities here at home,” he said.
Mangalore’s Innovation Potential — Mr. G. Santhosh Kumar, KAS
Mr. G. Santhosh Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mangalore, commended the initiative for contributing to the region’s growing reputation in academics and technology. He emphasized the Government’s support for private ventures that align with broader development goals, especially those that foster skill-building and employment.
He lauded Sapling’s infrastructure and vision as a significant step toward advancing Mangalore as a centre of educational excellence.
Industry-Aligned Training and Global Collaboration — Ms. Pramila Crasta
Ms. Pramila Crasta, Managing Director of the project, emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between academia and industry. She introduced Esyasoft Technologies—a global technology leader and key partner in the initiative—as a company aligned with smart energy, EV infrastructure, and digital transformation.
She acknowledged Dr. Bipin Chandra, Founder and group CEO of Esyasoft, for his forward-thinking approach and highlighted how such collaborations can empower students to be “future-ready” with hands-on experience in emerging technologies.
Ceremonial Key Handover and Felicitations
Following the speeches, Ms. Pramila Crasta handed over the ceremonial key of the facility to Mrs. Megha Chandra, wife of Dr. Bipin Chandra, symbolizes a strong and purposeful partnership with Esyasoft. All vendors and contributors to the project were honoured on stage for their unwavering commitment, craftsmanship, and vital role in bringing the vision of Sunshine Sapling to life.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Mr. Ashok Kumar, General Manager of Sapling Multi Ventures, who acknowledged the vision, effort, and collaboration that brought Sunshine Sapling to life. Guests were then invited for a guided tour of the facility, followed by a networking lunch.
But beyond the ceremonial close, what began on this day was the beginning of something greater—a place where ideas will be ignited, skills will be sharpened, and future will be built. Sunshine Sapling now stands as a symbol of what is possible when vision, values, and innovation come together.
