Moodbidri: Three staff members of a petrol pump in Moodbidri were injured after a group of youths allegedly assaulted them on Thursday evening. The incident occurred on December 11, 2025, prompting a swift response from local police, who have since launched an investigation into the attack.
Petrol pump staff assaulted
According to initial reports, the victims—Suresh, Maunesh, and Praveen—were on duty when the group of youths arrived at the pump. The four youths, travelling on two motorcycles, reportedly confronted the staff before launching a physical attack. All three injured employees were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Previous enmity suspected
Police sources said that the attackers and the victims were known to each other, leading investigators to suspect that the assault may have stemmed from earlier disputes or personal enmity. However, the exact motive has not yet been confirmed.
Eyewitnesses indicated that the attackers arrived suddenly, targeted the staff, and fled the scene shortly after the assault. The incident caused panic among customers present at the petrol pump at the time.
Police initiate investigation
A team from Moodbidri Police Station visited the location soon after receiving information about the assault. Officers examined the spot, interacted with witnesses, and began gathering clues.
