A pedestrian tragically passed away in a hit-and-run incident at Uchila on the morning of January 14, Tuesday.

The victim, identified as Manjunath (48) from Haveri, was walking along the roadside when an unknown vehicle struck him. He succumbed to his injuries instantly at the scene.

Residents have voiced their frustration, pointing out that poorly planned road construction on the highway is contributing to a rising number of accidents in the area. In fact, local reports suggest that six people have lost their lives in similar incidents over the past month alone.

The community is calling for immediate action to improve road safety and prevent further fatalities.
