The South Western Railway (SWR) has extended the cancellation of all train services on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru route until August 6. This extension is due to ongoing restoration work on the damaged track in the Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya Road Ghat section. The disruption, initially expected to last until August 4, has been prolonged as repairs continue.

The track section between Yadakumari and Kadagaravalli stations in the Western Ghats, between Hassan and Mangaluru, was severely impacted by landslides on July 26. The affected area is accessible only by rail, prompting the Mysuru division to use wagons to transport machinery, equipment, and materials necessary for reinforcing the embankment.

  • Train No. 16512: Kannur-KSR Bengaluru Express is canceled until August 6.
