Sullia: Residents of Mandekolu village were left reeling on Saturday night when a herd of wild elephants went on a rampage, causing significant damage to agricultural farms in the area.

The destructive incident occurred near Thotappadi, where the marauding animals plowed through plantations owned by Kunhiraman and Vasant. The attack resulted in extensive damage to banana and nut crops in the affected areas.

In response to the urgent situation, a group of 8-10 local residents banded together late at night and successfully managed to drive the wild elephants back into the forest.

Efforts are underway to assess and address the impact of this unexpected wildlife intrusion on local agriculture.
