Mangaluru, November 16, 2025: The students of Yenepoya World School (YWS) gathered at Fiza by Nexus Mall, Mangaluru, to mark the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, using creativity and performance to promote awareness about road safety and responsible driving.

The event, held in a public space to reach a wider audience, attracted shoppers, families, and onlookers who paused to watch, listen, and engage with the young advocates of road safety.

A Tribute Through Performance and Awareness

Through a series of thought-provoking skits, songs, and public performances, the students conveyed powerful messages about the importance of following traffic rules, wearing helmets and seatbelts, and avoiding rash driving. Their passionate acts struck an emotional chord with the audience, paying tribute to those who lost their lives in road accidents and reminding everyone of the importance of caution and awareness.

The initiative not only honoured the victims but also served as a reminder to the community to prioritise safety over speed and carelessness on the road.

Guest Speaker Emphasises Safety and Responsibility

ASI Santhosh Padil, Mangaluru Traffic Police, and recipient of the Chief Minister’s Award, was the chief guest for the event. In his address, he shared valuable insights on the do’s and don’ts of road safety, urging citizens to strictly adhere to traffic regulations.

“Road safety begins with each one of us. Following simple rules can save countless lives,”
he emphasised, appreciating the school’s effort in raising awareness among the younger generation.

His presence added great value to the event, bridging the message between the law enforcement community and the citizens.
