Youth altercation leads to assault and injuries at Ganesh Katte, Panambur

Two separate cases have been filed after a clash between two youth groups at Ganesh Katte, Tannirbavi, resulting in injuries and assault. The Panambur police registered the cases following an incident on January 12 at 11:45 PM.

A group of Venkatesh, Karthik, Santosh, Saif, Dhanush, and Prajwal were drinking and smoking when another group, including Preetham and Sanveet, asked for a lighter. The disagreement escalated when the lighter was not returned, and Karthik was struck with a beer bottle. Soon, four to five individuals supporting Preetham and Sanveet attacked the other group with wooden sticks, worsening the situation.

Two cases were filed at Panambur Police Station under multiple sections of the BNS. Karthik, Santosh, Dhanush, and Prajwal were arrested in connection with one case. A counter-complaint was filed by Prajwal against Preetham and Sanveet.

The Commissioner of Police dismissed rumors circulating on WhatsApp about a communal attack involving Muslims and the Scheduled Caste community, clarifying that both groups were from the same community. Investigations are ongoing.
