In Mangaluru, the North Police have registered a case against a young man for allegedly creating a disturbance in a public area under the influence of ganja. The incident occurred near Pandeshwar on Thursday, and the youth in question, identified as Nihal C Razak, 20, hails from Punnayoor in Kerala’s Thrissur district. According to officials, he has been charged under Section 27(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for drug consumption and related public nuisance.
In a separate case, the Surathkal police apprehended three individuals on Wednesday for the alleged consumption of ganja near the coastal area. The accused, identified as D Saran from MV Nagar in Bengaluru North, Sanjay R, 24, from Kuvempu Nagar in Mysuru, and Anushkar KS, 23, from Muvattupuzha in Ernakulam district, were reportedly involved in drug use near the beach, raising safety and legal concerns.
Local law enforcement continues to address drug-related activities along Mangaluru’s coastlines and within public spaces to uphold public order. Officials have heightened their vigilance around popular spots where such incidents tend to occur, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy for drug use and encouraging community involvement in reporting suspicious activities.
