Puttur: In a tragic incident in the Bagalkot district, a 22-year-old tipper driver named Hanumantha Madara, hailing from Badami Danakashiroor, was found murdered. Hanumantha had been missing for 20 days after being accompanied by three youths. His body was discovered on the third bend of Agumbe Ghat, and two individuals have been detained by the Puttur rural police in connection with the crime. The third suspect is currently on the run.
The motive behind the murder is suspected to be an alleged illicit relationship between the deceased, Hanumantha, and the wife of Shivappa, one of the accused. Shivappa reportedly warned Hanumantha’s uncle, Manjunatha, to send him away, or else he would harm him. In response, Manjunatha arranged a job for Hanumantha in Kumbra just six days before the tragic incident.
On November 17, the accused, including Shivappa, took Hanumantha from his residence in Kumbra to Puttur. Shivappa had reportedly warned Manjunatha earlier that he would not spare Hanumantha. The victim’s mobile was switched off, leading to a complaint filed by Hanumantha’s mother, Renavva Madara, on November 19.
The police detained two individuals, Manjunatha and Shivappa, after tracking the last people seen with Hanumantha. The third suspect, Durgappa, is currently evading arrest. The police utilized a photograph taken by the tipper owner, Mohandas Rai, who captures images of new employees. This image assisted the police in identifying and apprehending the suspects.
The motive for the murder is suspected to be Shivappa’s accusation of an illicit relationship between Hanumantha and his wife. The investigation is ongoing.
