Entrepreneur And Social Worker S Narayan Rao Passes Away

Mangalore: Eminent first generation Entrepreneur, Philanthropist and Social Worker, S. Narayan Rao passed away at his residence in Bajai-Kapikad in the City on Tuesday. He was 94.

In his illustrious professional life spanning over seven decades, Narayan Rao established Udaya Printers and Publications at Kodialbail in the year 1949 following his studies in Mumbai. Hailing from Shedde in Mangalore, he was born in 1929 and completed Diploma in Accountancy and Secretarial Practice from the prestigious Sydenham College in Mumbai and worked in Bombay Port before coming to Mangalore.

A multi-faceted personality he was a member of Rotary Club since 1970 and also an active Rotarian eversince. In 1975 he was among the Founders of Mangalore Philatalic Club and served as its President. He was also an active member of Bharat Seva Dal and many socio-cultural organisation.
