Grandeur of Kannada Rajyotsava in city of “Jog Falls”

Shivamogga: As the fragrance of Kannada is in the air, and the state is rejoicing its day of the merger of all the Kannada speaking regions, the city too welcomed this day with grandeur and enthusiasm.

The 61^st Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated by hoisting of the national flag by the District Commissioner K A Dayanand. In the programme, Commissioner of the City Corporation Charulatha Somal IAS, Superintendent of Police Abhinav Khare IPS and other officials were present.

DC K A Dayanand took the Guard of Honor from the police band and the National Anthem along with the State Anthem was sung.

The NCC and Scouts and Guide marched along with the police.

After the march past, an array of cultural programmes was on display.

Tableaux from different departments of the district administration took part, which carried messages of awareness towards health and showcased eminent poets and literarians.

It also showcased the freedom fighters of the land.
