Mysuru: As part of Shivakumar Swamiji’s 114th birth anniversary, the Trividha Dasohi Namana program was held at Tagadur Ramachandra Rao Park in Chamundipura A Circle on Thursday April 1.
Speaking after inaugurating the program by planting a mango sapling, President of Kannada Sahitya Parishad, Maddikere Gopal, said that Dr. Shivakumara Swamiji had entered the Siddhaganga field in 1930 in the Virakthashrama dheekshe.” Shivakumara Mahaswamy, the legendary idol, took over as the heir of the Uddhana Shivayogas in 1941 and succeeded to the Siddha Ganga Mutt. Then the nature of Siddhaganga field was radically changed. He sacrificed his personal life and helped children to get education without showing any discrimination. He is still remembered by the people of Tumkur, Mysuru, Bengaluru, Chamarajanagrna and even in some quarters of North Karnataka. All, he added.
Mylak’s president, N.V. Phaneesh said, “Shivakumar Swamiji, who is known as the walking God, had been educating children for over 8 decades and emphasized the importance of health. The Central Government has been requested to bestow Bharat Ratna to Shivakumar Swamiji and it is awaiting certain technical clearance. He is responsible for spreading our culture to the world,” he opined.
