Mysuru: To mark International Museum Day, the Department of Archaeology, Museums, and Heritage will host a unique event, Museums on Wheels, on May 18. This special event, themed ‘The Future of Museums in Rapidly Evolving Communities,’ is designed to engage school and college students, researchers, history buffs, and the general public. It offers an excellent opportunity to explore various museums showcasing cultural, literary, and historical artefacts.
The event will kick off at 8 am at the Wellington Government Museum and Art Gallery, located on Irwin Road. Following the inauguration, the programme will journey through a variety of museums, including the Natural Regional Museum, the Travel (Car) Museum, and the Railway Museum. The tour will return to the Wellington Government Museum and Art Gallery to conclude the day’s activities.
This initiative invites individuals between the ages of 10 and 60, including students, scholars, and anyone with an interest in history, to participate.
