Mysuru: Mysuru district police have arrested four persons for allegedly robbing a motorist after a man and a woman sought a lift from him on the city’s Outer Ring Road.
Motorist stopped near Manipal Hospital
According to police, the complainant, Vinay, a resident of J.P. Nagar in Mysuru, was returning home after attending a function in Pandavapura at around 10 pm on August 2.
When he reached near the Manipal Hospital junction on the Mysuru-Bengaluru highway, a man and a woman reportedly waved him down and requested a lift to the Sathagalli traffic signal on the Outer Ring Road.
The duo allegedly told Vinay that they needed to reach the location urgently. Believing their request, he reportedly allowed them to enter his car.
Police arrest four suspects
The incident subsequently led to a robbery complaint, following which Mysuru district police launched an investigation.
Police have now arrested four persons in connection with the alleged robbery. The investigation is underway to establish the exact sequence of events and the individual roles of those arrested.
