Mysuru: The KRS dam in Srirangapatna taluk has almost reached its full capacity, with 123.15 feet (95.39%) of water accumulated in the reservoir. To mark this milestone, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, and MLA Ramesh Bandisidde Gowda will inaugurate the garden on July 29 at 11 am, following a muhurat ceremony.
The event was initially scheduled for July 27 but was postponed by two days. The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister will arrive at KRS by helicopter, accompanied by MLAs from Mandya and Mysore districts, top officials of the Water Resources Department, and other dignitaries.
To maintain the maximum water level (124.80), the outflow rate has been reduced since Tuesday evening, from 51,509 cusecs to 11,827 cusecs. Currently, 33,367 cusecs of water are flowing into the reservoir. Officials from the Cauvery Irrigation Corporation, including Managing Director Mahesh and Chief Engineer R.L. Venkatesh, were present during the preparations.
