Activist Snehamayi Krishna, who earlier moved court against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the MUDA land allotment case, has now approached the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), levelling serious accusations against senior Lokayukta officers.
In his complaint, Krishna named Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Manish Kharbikar, Inspector General of Police (IGP) A Subramanyeswara Rao, and Superintendent of Police (SP) TJ Udesh from the Mysuru Lokayukta division. He claimed that these senior officials allegedly acted under political pressure and were influenced by the Chief Minister’s authority during the course of the inquiry.
Krishna alleges that, despite possessing what he calls compelling evidence against Siddaramaiah in the MUDA land irregularities matter, the Lokayukta officials submitted an interim report indicating a lack of conclusive proof. According to him, this move appears to be an attempt to shield the Chief Minister from legal consequences.
In his communication to the CVC, Krishna argued that the report was not only premature and biased, but also aimed to mislead the judiciary. He urged the commission to initiate disciplinary action against the named officers for allegedly submitting a factually distorted account of the case in their report to the court.
The activist maintains that such actions undermine public trust in anti-corruption watchdogs and demanded a transparent and independent inquiry. The CVC’s response is awaited.
