MLC R Rajendra, son of minister K N Rajanna, has lodged a complaint with Kyatasandra police, alleging a conspiracy to assassinate him. He claims that a gang was hired for ₹70 lakh to eliminate him, with ₹5 lakh already paid as an advance.

Rajendra asserts that he possesses an audio clip as proof of the plot. He insists that influential figures from Bengaluru orchestrated this scheme to politically weaken his father, a close associate of the chief minister. The gang reportedly included individuals named Somu, Bharat, Amit, Gunda, and Yatish.

According to Rajendra, unidentified individuals previously visited his Kyatasandra residence disguised as laborers. Their alleged attempt to attack him failed. He also suspects that they tried to install a GPS tracker in his vehicle to monitor his movements.

Following his complaint, the police registered an FIR under BNS Sections 109 (abetment to crime), 190 (illegal activities), 329(4) (unauthorized entry), and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy). Superintendent of Police K V Ashok confirmed that Rajendra has security cover, adding that additional protection will be arranged if necessary.

This high-profile case has triggered political debates and concerns over safety threats to public figures. Authorities are expected to conduct a detailed investigation to uncover the identities of those involved and the extent of the alleged plot.
