Mysuru: City-based NR Group, owners of the Mysore Warriors franchise, on Tuesday unveiled the Mysore Warriors Women’s Team for the second edition of the Maharani Trophy KSCA T20 2026, scheduled to be held from July 22 to August 2 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The 18-member squad was formally introduced to the media, with Karnataka batter Shubha Satheesh named captain for the 2026 season. The team will be coached by former India cricketer Karuna Jain and supported by an experienced coaching staff, blending seasoned performers with promising young talent.

Shubha Satheesh to lead title charge

Having finished runners-up in the inaugural edition, Mysore Warriors enter the new season determined to go one step further. Captain Shubha Satheesh expressed confidence in her team’s preparation and resolve.

“It is a privilege to once again lead the Mysore Warriors in the second season of the Maharani Trophy. Last season, we came very close to lifting the trophy, and while we fell just short, that experience has only strengthened our resolve. This year, we are fully geared up and determined to go one step further,” she said.

She added that the players had trained hard and were ready to play fearless and positive cricket throughout the tournament.

Blind cricket champion inspires the team

Adding an inspiring touch to the launch event, T.C. Deepika, World Cup-winning captain of the Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team and an alumna of the Ranga Rao Memorial School for Differently Abled (RMSD), interacted with the squad and wished them success.

Deepika praised the franchise for supporting women’s cricket and said such encouragement motivates young girls to pursue the sport while also acknowledging the support she received from the Ranga family during her cricketing journey.

Franchise continues commitment to social causes

Reaffirming its commitment to community development, Cycle Pure Agarbathi presented cheques worth ₹3 lakh towards social initiatives. Donations of ₹1.5 lakh each were made to Usha Kiran Eye Hospital and Ability Sports League (ASL) Cricket, fulfilling a commitment made during the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2026.

Speaking at the event, Arjun Ranga, Owner of Mysore Warriors and Managing Director of Cycle Pure Agarbathi, said the franchise remains committed to creating professional opportunities for talented women cricketers while contributing positively to society.
