Mysuru: BJP workers staged a strong protest on Friday near Ramaswamy Circle, denouncing the Karnataka government’s decision to suspend Bengaluru Police Commissioner following the tragic stampede that killed 11 RCB fans.

The demonstration was spearheaded by Krishnaraja MLA TS Srivatsa, who directly blamed the Congress-led government for the fatalities during the celebration after RCB’s first-ever IPL title win.

Raising slogans, protesters branded CM Siddaramaiah as A1, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar as A2, and Home Minister G Parameshwara as A3, demanding Siddaramaiah’s resignation.

Addressing the crowd, Srivatsa questioned the selective accountability, pointing out that swift action was taken against police officers, but no steps had been initiated in the MUDA scam, where the CM himself was allegedly implicated. He accused the Chief Minister of abusing power for personal and political convenience.

The BJP leaders alleged that the CM and DCM were directly responsible for the avoidable loss of lives, and called the suspension of police officers a diversion tactic to shift blame.

Former MLA and city BJP president L Nagendra also participated in the protest, echoing calls for accountability at the highest level of the state leadership.
