Mysuru Deputy Commissioner (DC) G Lakshmikanth Reddy emphasized the importance of equipping government school students with technological skills, particularly in using mobile tablets in today’s digitally-driven world. Speaking at an event at the Zilla Panchayat auditorium, where tabs were distributed under Infosys Foundation’s CSR initiative, he urged teachers to incorporate tablet usage into the curriculum to boost digital literacy and facilitate access to online learning resources.
He highlighted how tablet learning can enhance students’ abilities in research, writing, presentations, and other academic activities. He further stressed that educators should also guide students on internet safety, navigation, and the creative use of technology, including coding and multimedia applications.
DC Reddy suggested that tablet training should begin from Class 5, with dedicated sessions for digital education. He also encouraged teachers to enhance their tech skills to effectively support students.
Additional Deputy Commissioner P Shivaraju praised Infosys Foundation for its efforts in providing technology access through computers and tablets. In its first phase, the foundation has donated tabs to 70 government schools in the district.
