Mysuru: The Karnataka Housing Board’s (KHB) proposed residential project, Heritage Heights, located at Kenchalagudu village in Jayapura Hobli, has seen limited interest from potential homebuyers during its ongoing demand survey.

With only 52 applicants showing interest out of 192 available units, the KHB has decided to extend the application deadline from April 2 to May 2 to allow more time for registrations.

As per the plan, the project comprises 160 two-bedroom (2 BHK) and 32 three-bedroom (3 BHK) apartments. The tentative price for a 2 BHK unit is ₹49.4 lakh, while a 3 BHK unit is priced at ₹63 lakh. To express interest, applicants must make a deposit of ₹2 lakh for 2 BHK and ₹3 lakh for 3 BHK units.

However, low registration numbers have prompted concerns. Real estate experts suggest that buyers in Mysuru and surrounding areas still prefer individual houses or land plots over apartment living. Many buyers also favour private developers and properties within city limits.

A local builder pointed out that when MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) launched a city-based project, it saw a much stronger response due to its central location.

A KHB official confirmed the extension and expressed optimism about future interest in the project. Meanwhile, CREDAI Mysuru Chairman Srihari Dwarkanath noted that public confidence in government housing projects has dipped due to uncertainty and delays, which has impacted enthusiasm.
