In an unexpected development, former MP Prathap Simha met Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra in Mysuru on Monday. Vijayendra was in the city for the ‘Mysuru Chalo’ and ‘Jananodalana Jagruthi’ convention, organized by Rashtra Suraksha Janandolana Samithi. The event was held in response to the February 10 attack on the Udayagiri Police Station and police vehicles by members of a particular community.

Simha had previously aligned with MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal and others who had opposed Vijayendra’s leadership. Despite past differences, the two leaders interacted warmly at a private hotel on the Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway, where Vijayendra was awaiting a court order to enter the city due to prohibitory orders imposed by Mysuru police.

The meeting gained significance as the BJP event faced restrictions, with police enforcing prohibitory orders from Sunday midnight to Monday midnight. Eventually, Vijayendra received permission to enter the city, and both leaders participated in the convention. At the hotel, Simha and Vijayendra greeted each other and were seen conversing amicably, signaling possible political realignments.
