Wild Elephant Raids Coorg Shop for Mangoes and Veggies

In a startling incident near Devarapur, close to Gonikoppa on the Mysore–Kerala State Highway, a wild elephant entered a roadside shop around midnight in search of food.

The elephant wandered into Coorg Spices and Home Needs, pushed aside the front cover, and feasted on vegetables and mangoes before retreating calmly into the forest. The entire encounter was captured on CCTV.

Despite several vehicles, including contract buses, moving along the highway, the elephant appeared unfazed. Locals say such visits are common during the rainy season, as elephants frequently cross this stretch in search of food.
