Mangaluru: Thank You Karnataka is a series of programmes organised to celebrate decennial year of News Karnataka and thus thank Kannadigas all over the globe for supporting the Spearhead Media Group to achieve this milestone.

One of the programmes under Thank You Karnataka series is Walk the special path, a show promoting sensitivity, awareness and most importantly, social inclusion, which is aired every Monday.

The Guest of the 17th episode held on Monday April 17 was Dr. Rameela Shekhar, Mental health professional. The Anchor Person for the programme was Meena Noronha.

The programme was premiered on NewsKarnataka.com’s YouTube Channel.

Dr. Rameela Shekhar began her session discussion about common behavioural problem among special needs children and highlighted that, parental acceptance on child’s condition is the significant factor among the prevention of the same.

Speaking on behaviourial management strategies, Dr. Rameela Shekhar highlighted, “Any behaviour that is learnt can be unlearnt”.

With early intervention, child will definitely see an improvement and then do not compare your child with others, she emphasised.

Saying, “Love your child unconditional and give them more time”, Dr. Rameela Shekhar concluded the session.
