Mangaluru: Thank You Karnataka is a series of programmes organised to celebrate decennial year of News Karnataka and thus thank Kannadigas all over the globe for supporting the Spearhead Media Group to achieve this milestone.
One of the programmes under Thank You Karnataka series is Walk the Special Path, a show promoting sensitivity, awareness and most importantly, social inclusion of disabled children, which is aired every Monday.
The Guest of the twelfth episode held on Monday February 6 is Anupama K., Paediatric Physiotherapist and Associate Professor, Father Muller Medical College. The anchor person for the programme was Meena Noronha.

Anupama K. broke the stereotype involved in defining physiotherapist and putforth, “Physiotherapy involves procedures required from womb to tomb and not restricted to massage alone.” She also shed light on the significance of physiotheraphy in mental health.
Speaking on Neurological Physiotherapy Anupama K. said about its categorisation and the types of therapies involved. The right to begin Physiotherapy is as early as recognising problem. While in a condition like Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), the therapy is started at the age eight. Repetition and Consistency are two significant mechanism to have a great impact in Physiotheraphy, she stressed.
As per the report, India stands high for the disability. And I am happy to have chosen this career for if these kids are trained well they can be an economic resource to the country as well, said Anupama K.
