Opposition parties in Tamil Nadu have criticized the DMK government and police for inaction regarding the sexual harassment of a mentally challenged college student in Chennai. The victim’s father filed a complaint, alleging that a female student and some male friends had misled and harassed his daughter, with one of the males attempting sexual assault. After initially registering the case as a CSR, police arrested two suspects. Opposition leaders, including BJP’s K. Annamalai and AIADMK’s Edappadi K. Palaniswami, condemned the delay in action, calling for accountability.
