Abu Dhabi/UAE: Sangati Creations’ maiden venture, Konkani film ‘Zanvoy No. 1’ was screened for the first time in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi on Friday, February 1, at 1.30 PM. The film, written and directed by well-known Bollywood director Harry Fernandes Barkur, received an overwhelming response with full house shows.
In Sharjah, chaos reigned in the theatre as the Konkani lovers that poured in numbers more than the tickets available. Those who were not able to get a seat, sat on the stairs just to watch the movie.
As the formal inauguration was difficult to conduct before the show, MC Uttam Menezes conducted it during the interval. The patron of Sharjah Karnataka Sangha, Mark Denis and well-known supporter of Konkani, Cynthia Goveas did the honours. Mark Denis addressed the gathering and requested them to continue to show their support.
In Abu Dhabi, the entire venue was booked by the audience much before the day of the show. People still came in and requested more tickets for their kith and kin.
The audience in Sharjah, as well as Abu Dhabi, enjoyed the movie which was reflected in the comments they made to the cameraperson after the show.
Earlier, Shodhan Prasad welcomed the audience and introduced and thanked Valerian Dalmaida, the current President of KCO who was recently elected for the 2nd term and the main person behind the film’s success in Abu Dhabi. He also introduced the film team, Deepak Paladka and Ranjitha Lewis. Later, he invited the Guests Leo Rodrigues, Walter Almeida, Dolphy Vas, Michael D’Silva, Gerry D’Mello, Robert Pinto, Darick Pinto and Bhasker Shetty who helped in the successful release of the film in Abu Dhabi. Sandhya Shodhan of Sandhya Creations welcomed all the guests with a rose.
Shodhan then announced the sad demise of Dinesh Fernandes and spoke about his wife Cynthia, who was always part of the team and expressed that she was missed at the show due to the untimely demise. Valerian offered a condolence prayer and everybody prayed for the departed soul. In Sharjah, Uttam Menezes offered the condolence prayer.
Since April 2018, ‘Zanvoy No.1’ has already been released in Mangaluru, Goa and Mumbai successfully, with special shows held in various parts of India.
Soon after the UAE release, the film will be released in Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and Israel. Plans are being made to screen the movie in London and the USA as well.
Extensive marketing by Deepak Paladka and the Sandhya Creations team has made ‘Zanvoy No.1’ reach all the Konkani audience worldwide.
