Dhwani Pratishtana hosts ‘Kavi Kayyara 100 Poets’ meet

Dubai, Mar 8: A Poets’ Meet ‘Kavi Kayyara 100’ was organised  here  with great fanfare   in connection with the birth centenary of renowned poet Nadoja. Dr. Kayyara Kinhanna Rai. The event held at the Quick Bite Restaurant Auditorium at Dubai was organised by Dhwani Pratishtana which is  contributing significantly to Kannada theatrical and literary field.

Writers Harshad Hussain, Irshad Moodbidri, Madusudan, Eranna Moolimani, Gopinath Rao and Dhwani Pratishtana President Prakash Payyar  celebrated the birth centenary of the great poet in a unique way by reciting poems

Ganesh Rai,  former president of Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah and renowned art director, spoke on the life and literary contributions of Kayyara Kinhanna Rai.

James Mendonca, Director of Reliable Fabricators, Satish Venkatramana, Chief of Chilly Willy and   Herman Lewis, Executive Officer of Radio Spice,  were present as chief guests.

Prakash Payyar,  President of Dhwani Pratishtana  said  Kayyara Kinhanna Rai  along with his literary contribution, has been a Kannada activist who has been working for the unification of Kasargod with Karnataka. His  life and achievements and his zeal to work for Kannada despite being in Kerala, serves as an inspiration to many, he said.

Dhwani Pratishtana Secretary Madhusudan  and his wife  who will be  returning to their hometown Bangalore after years of stay in Dubai,  were warmly felicitated on the occasion.

Jayanth Shetty proposed the vote of thanks. Sudarshan Hegde compered the programme.
