Doha: The International Commission of Culture & Diplomatic Relations conferred noted entrepreneur, philanthropist, and community leader Dr Moodambail Ravi Shetty with the Nelson Mandela Award for Humanity and the Rastra Prerna Award during the Atmanirbhar National Conference held on December 20 at Hotel Marriott in Indore.
As Shetty could not physically attend the ceremony, the award was received by his representative, Shivani.
Affectionately known as ‘Ravi Anna’, Dr Moodambail Ravi Shetty, who is the Managing Director of ATS (Advanced Technical Services and Associated Technical Services), has been the recipient of many awards for his philanthropy in India and abroad including the Mother Teresa Social Harmony Award, Rajataranga award by Kalasampada Mumbai, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Rajyotsava Prashasti for social service, Abhyantarashree award by Karnataka Sangha Qatar on the occasion of the birthday of Bharat Ratna Sir M Vishwesharayya, International Aryabhata award for social work, Golden Achievement Awards Doha first edition-2017, Qatar NRI Awards by Kairali TV for Business Excellence with social responsibility and so on.
Shetty has served three terms as president of Tulu Koota Qatar and was thereafter unanimously elected as its patron. He is also the founder-president of Bunts Qatar and served as Vice President of Karnataka Sangha Qatar, and as Adalitha Mokthesara (president) of the Subraya Temple at Mundoor near Puttur. He has also served as president of the Jeernodhara Samiti of the temple.
