Dubai: Maestro Events LLC, Dubai presents Gulf Voice of Mangalore Season 5 semi final round – UAE Chapter will be held on the September 30, 2016, at 5:50pm, sharp (not a single minute delay) at Emirates Theatre – Emirates International School Dubai, Jumeirah (Al Thanya). The venue will open by 5.00pm.
Preparations for the event are in full swing and the show will bring in a lot of creativity and entertainment to the fore. The contestants have all geared up with regular practice sessions to vie the attention of the judges as well as audience.

A single winner from each category will have an opportunity to represent UAE in the Finals that will be held in Bahrain on November 11, 2016.
The event will feature some of the top Konkani Music talents such as judges Cajetan Dias, Shilpa Cutinha, Roshan D’Souza Angelore.
A Brief profile of the judges:
Cajetan Dias:
Cajetan Dias is a multi-award winning artist from Honnavar. He is a qualified Indian Classical Dancer, Instrumentalist, Singer, Music trainer, Music arranger and much more.
Awards won by Cajetan Dias:
• Winner of the second Global Konkani Awards for Best Konkani Music Arranger 2009 at the first Konkani Cultural Convention Kalaangann-Mangaluru-December.12,2010 album “kristamcho ray”.
• Winner of the fourth Global Konkani Music Award for Best Konkani Music Arranger 2011. Album “vozram motiam”.
• Felicitated by ‘Mandd Sobhann’ on December 31, 2011 for the music arrangement of “vozram Motiam” – for the creativity and excellence in Music.
• Karnataka Yuva Catholic Ratn award presented by kryc at Belthanhadi on September 30, 2012.
• Winner of the 6th Global Konkani Music Award for Best Konkani Music Arranger 2014. Album ” hello deva”.
• Nominated as the best music composer 2014 – 6th Global Konkani Music Awards.
• Felicitated by Maa Creations on January 1, 2014 at Bendur, Mangaluru.
2. Shilpa Cutinha
Born in Mangaluru, Shilpa is trained in Carnatic Music (vocals) for 2 years and is currently getting trained in Hindustani Music(vocals).
Awards won by Shilpa Cutinha:
*Best Singer Award at “Kala Sangam” 1998.
*Best Female Singer (Solo) 2003-2004, Konkani Association, St Aloysius College.
*Secured first place in Solo singing competition organized by Konkani Natak Sabha (Inter Parish)for the years 1993, 1994, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2000,2001.
*First place in Solo singing competition in the open to all category at Konkani Yuva Mahotsav 2006and 2008 organized by Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy in association with Konkani Yuva Awaz and Mandd Sobhann.
*Rendered voice for various Kannada documentary films (Music by Alwyn Fernandes).
*Play back singing for Kannada Movie Praana (Music by Alwyn Fernandes).
*Sung for more than 125 Konkani and Kannada Musical and Devotional Albums.
*Performed at various Musical Nites like Melwyn Peris, Claud D’Souza, Henry D’Souza, RonyD’Cunha, Chilipili (YCS/YSM).
*Awarded – Best Global Konkani Singer, Female 2013 at 6th Global Konkani Music Awards organized by Mandd Sobhann held on December 21, 2014.
*Nominated as – Best Global Konkani Singer, Female 2014 at 7th Global Konkani Music Awards organized by Mandd Sobhann held on December 13, 2015.
3. Roshan D’Souza Angelore
A qualified Automobile engineer. Well versed with several musical instruments such as the violin, guitar, keyboard, mandolin, harmonica and melodica. He has helped with music arrangement for more than 100 CDs and has performed in more than 100 shows with famous Konkani Artists such as Melwyn Peris , Eric Ozario, Wilson Olivera, Norbert Periera. He considers Joel periera as his music teacher and idol, along with legendary guitarist Alwyn Fernandes. Awards won includes – five global music awards to date, 2010 Best music composer, 2011 Best music composer, 2012 Best music arranger, 2013 Best music arranger, 2014 Best music composer and in the year 2014 Recipient of 10th Kalakar Puraskar.
Added Attractions:
Melodia the professional vocal studio shall perform their special and enthralling songs. Feat beat Dance Group will perform some of their best dances on this day. Another added attraction is a performance by Patrick Pereira, who will enthuse the crowd with his voice and mimicry.
Floyd Kiran and Vamanjur Halwa Fame Roshan D’Silva will compere the show. Music for the event will be provided by Thushara Kuruvitage Along with the Srilankan Band Accoustica. Sound and Lighting by Broadway events Abu Dhabi.
All in all, the GVOM 5 Semi Final in Dubai will be a total entertainment package.
