Dubai: Kannadigas gathered together with excitement to witness and celebrate Kannada language and culture as ‘Dubai Kannadigaru’ organized Karnataka Rajyotsava celebrations at Dubai Al Barsha JSS International School Auditorium on Friday, November 13.
Everyone who attended the programme has a warm glitter with nostalgia in their eyes as they celebrated Kannada culture through the music and literature displayed in the show.
Every year, Dubai Kannadigaru is highly appreciated for its sense of uniqueness in celebrating the event. This year, people witnessed yet another unique celebration put together by the organization.
The program began with a formal inauguration where the esteemed dignitaries lit the traditional lamp. Former minister and JDS leader Cheluvarayasvami, Dubai businessman Jhafrulla Khan, Mohammad Mustafa, Suchitra Film and Cultural Academy Bengaluru President Chairman K V R Tagore, Suvarna News Channel Investigative Reporter Vijayalakshimi Shibaruru, Alok Kumar, Chilli Willy Satish Venkataramana, Ravish Gowda, Shekhar Reddy, Sarvottam Shetty, Organisation President Sadan Das, Kannada cinema comedy artist Tennis Krishna, Mandya Ramesh, Manju Bhashini, Prashanth, Roopa Prabhakar, Sandhya Shenoy and others were present among the dignitaries.
Every year, as part of the celebration, the organisation presents awards to Kannadigas who have strived for Kannada language and culture with the ‘Kannada Ratna Award. This year the award was presented to Kannada cinema’s most famous comedian, Director and Producer Dwarakesh.
However, due to unavoidable reasons he couldn’t attend the programme and the award was received by his sons Yogesh and Sukesh.
Journalist and Head of the Investigative Desk of Suvarna 24X7 Vijaya Lakshmi Shibaruru, Famous Graphic Designer Ganesh Rai, Retd. DGP K V R. Tagore were also honored and appreciated for their achievements in their fields of expertise.
Kannada cinema comedy artists, Tennis Krishna, Mandya Ramesh, Manju Bhashini and Prashanth with their hunmorous acts enthralled the audiences. Sandhya Shenoy also added to the comedy streak and played her part in making the audience laugh heartily.
Shiv Kumar, Uday Nanjappa and Sai Sallika sang Kannada film songs and made the audiences sing along with them making them thoroughly enjoy the musical extravaganza. All in all, everyone gathered at the programme left with sheer happiness and was of great praise for Dubai Kannadigaru and their well organised effort in celebrating Karnataka Rajyotsava.
