Kuwait: The KCWA family picnic held at Mishref Garden, Kuwait on November 17 drew people in large numbers thanks to the pleasant weather conditions prevailing here.
The fun-filled day started by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer led by Harry Fernandes. The event was called open by President Hilary Stevan Rego along with KCWA Managing Committee members.
The picnic was open to all Mangalorean Catholics residing in Kuwait. Over 600 people gathered at Mishref Garden early in the morning to spend the day with the community. The President, while offering a warm welcome to the gathering requested to enjoy the day with the spirit of togetherness. Management Committee Members joined the President in welcoming the gathering with an action song.
The first game “Dog and the Bone” was organised for the management committee where after several fun games like Bombing the City, Aiming the single wicket with the ring, Running on the mat and Sack Race were conducted for the children and Dodge Ball, Short Put, Breaking the Pot for adults, throwing water sponge into the bucket especially for ladies and dance & freeze fun games for elderly were conducted.
Housie-Housie game had large number of participants and multiple winners in each category.
Other sports events like volleyball for men, throw ball for women, tug of war for men and women were the highlights of the day. Winners were as follows:

Announcements throughout the day were done by Deepak Andrade and Anil Fernandes. The delicious breakfast and lunch served by M&M Caterers was relished by all.
Winners of various games and sports conducted during the day, received Trophies,Prizes from President Stevan Rego, Vice President Deepak Andrade, Sports Secretary Hywel Pinto and Naveen Mascarenhas.
Alban D’Souza and Alger Mathias captured the special moments throughout the day. Sound was provided by Waves Events and Rentals while DJ Hywel Pinto kept the crowd engaged with the music beats.The event was well coordinated by Deepak Andrade and Harry Fernandes with the support of Managing Committee members and volunteers. Sports events were coordinated by Hywel Pinto and Naveen Mascarenhas. Lovely flyers were designed by Reema D’Souza.
