ICAI’s Muscat chapter to organize 11th annual international conference

Muscat, Oman: The Muscat Chapter of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is organizing its 11th Annual International Conference on March 13-14, at Hotel Intercon Muscat on the theme “CA for CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT … CA for CHANGE ADAPTER” keeping in view the rapidly changing world, may it be Digital Revolution, IFRS & other Accounting Standards, Ethics – Corporate Governance – Transparency, various laws & regulations and more.

The Conference will be graced by the presence of dignitaries in Oman’s business community and government sector. His Excellency Munu Mahawar – the Indian Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Nasser Al Mawali – Dean of the College of Banking and Financial Studies and CA Atul Kumar Gupta – the President of ICAI will be our Guests of Honour.

The Muscat Chapter was awarded the first prize by ICAI as the Best Overseas Chapter (Category II), during the ICAI Annual Function recently held at Ashoka Hotel, New Delhi. The Muscat Chapter Managing Committee is humbled by this award and is committed to keep providing quality and knowledge-sharing opportunities for its members, Omani finance professionals, finance and accounts, audit and risk professionals of all nationalities in Sultanate of Oman and keeping them abreast about the latest developments and working tirelessly for upholding the Brand CA.

In line with the ICAI’s initiative of promoting International Seminars in various parts of the world; this 11th Annual International Conference of ICAI Muscat Chapter aims at bringing together CAs and other professionals across the globe and providing them a platform for sharing their knowledge. The Conference will be attended by finance professionals and CAs representing the GCC Chapters from Oman, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UK as well as by distinguished Omani Guests, businessmen and finance professionals from across the MENA Region and the members of ICAI around the world.

ICAI-Muscat Chapter is sponsored by the College of Banking and Financial Studies and is set up under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi and the College of Banking and Financial Studies, Sultanate of Oman. It has the objective of providing Continuing Professional Education to the members of the ICAI and this process of professional development is extended to the accountants and finance professionals of all nationalities. The Chapter was established in 2008 has over 300 members.

The ICAI, in its illustrious journey, started with about 1700 members in the year 1949 after the independence of India. Today, ICAI is having 164 branches in India, 34 chapters abroad along with an overseas office in Dubai and a new office in Singapore. Accountancy is truly a global profession and we Indian Chartered Accountants are the second largest body of Chartered Accountants in the world, with more than 300,000 members and more than 700,000 students. Today ICAI and its members are a force to be reckoned with.
