‘ViKa’ should mean “Vishwa Kavi”, hoped Valerian Dalmeida in honour of WK

Dubai: “ViKa”, pen name of renowned poet Wilson Kateel (WK), when reversed reads ‘Kavi’, which means a poet and now it is time to make sure that ViKa stands for ‘Vishwa Kavi’, said advisor and shareholder of Newskarnataka.com Valerian Dalmeida.

He was addressing the gathering during the success celebration of “Geet Gazaal” event, which was recently held under the banner of NewsKarnataka.com.

“Success of “Geet Gazaal” cannot be attributed to any one individual. NewsKarnataka believes in strength of people and the success of the event is the result of collective effort of like-minded people working towards a common goal, ” he said.

Meanwhile, poet Wilson Kateel expressed his happiness for having received overwhelming response from Konkani people for “Geet Gazaal”.

He said that Geet Gazaal has created an unforgettable chapter in his life and he is thankful to the organisers for giving him an opportunity to become a part of the event. The crowd applauded as Wilson Kateel recited some of his poems.

Nanu Marol, Konkani critic writer and advisor of “Geet Gazaal” said that the event has proven again that success is possible only when a team works with passion, focusing on single goal.

“Geet Gazaal” honored Deepak and family, Monica Walder and Daina Sharal with memento for their contribution for success of the event.

Sannu Monis, chief coordinator of “Geet Gazaal” thanked each and every one for supporting and working for “Geet Gazaal”. Valerian Dalmeida was thanked specifically for his guidance and sponsoring the success celebration gathering.
