Pakistani Father Appeals for Kids’ Medical Stay Amid India-Pakistan Tensions
A Pakistani man has urged the governments of India and Pakistan to allow his critically ill children to complete their life-saving treatment in New Delhi before they are forced to return home.
The family, hailing from Hyderabad in Sindh, is among many affected by the suspension of SAARC visa privileges following the recent Pahalgam terror attack.
Speaking to Geo News, the father revealed that his 9- and 7-year-old children suffer from congenital heart defects. Their surgeries, vital for their survival, are scheduled for next week. However, authorities have instructed the family to leave Delhi immediately, despite hospital and medical staff extending full support.
“We have spent nearly ₹10 million on travel, stay, and treatment. I plead with both governments to allow my children’s surgeries to go ahead,” the man said, according to PTI reports.
Meanwhile, cross-border returns continue. On Thursday, over 100 Indian nationals crossed back into India through the Wagah border, while 28 Pakistani citizens returned home. Similar movements were recorded on Friday.
Among those stranded was a seven-member Pakistani Hindu family from Balochistan who had attended a wedding in India. They learned about their visa cancellation only after reaching Lahore.
The escalation follows the horrific Pahalgam attack, where 26 tourists were gunned down. The Resistance Front (TRF), believed to be linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility. In response, India ordered the closure of the Integrated Check Post at Attari.
Tensions remain high with travel routes and diplomatic channels severely disrupted.
