Over 200 enthusiastic cyclists gathered at Brindavan College of Engineering on Sunday for Cyclothon 2025 – Ride Against Drug Abuse, championing the theme “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life.”
The initiative, led by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Bengaluru Zonal Unit, aimed to spread awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and unite communities for a drug-free India. Project Director Sunil K G emphasized the event’s inclusive nature, which drew participation from a wide range of groups — Indian Air Force, CRPF, Yellow Bicycle Group, local cycling communities, youth forums, and student bodies.
The event kicked off at 7 AM following a mass pledge for a drug-free nation, administered by Ajay Ghorpade, Zonal Director of NCB Bengaluru, along with wellness advocate Promilla Aryappa. The cyclists then embarked on a 12-kilometre ride, taking a route thoughtfully coordinated for minimal environmental impact.
Sustainability and route management were handled by the ECOSTP Community, ensuring the event maintained an eco-conscious footprint. The concluding function honoured significant contributors such as the Karnataka Bicycle Dealers Association (KBDA), Rotary Club of Bangalore Oasis, Rotaract Club of Bangalore Oasis, and ECOSTP Community for their efforts in logistics, mobilisation, and outreach.
By combining fitness, social responsibility, and public awareness, Cyclothon 2025 sent a powerful message: fighting drug abuse begins with community-driven action.
