Jaipur: Congress leader Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday claimed Prime Minister Narendra Modi lowered the dignity of his post by calling Rahul Gandhi ‘moorkhon ke sardar’ (the leader of stupid people). He said the Prime Minister’s jibe at the Congress stalwart was “very unfortunate”.

“That is quite regrettable. There is dignity in the position of prime minister. It is less the more it is criticized. What can you expect from a man who claims to be dignified yet says such things? added Gehlot.

Leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), Sanjay Raut, claimed that since Rahul Gandhi will take over as prime minister of the nation in 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is afraid of him.

“The BJP will lose the Assembly elections in five states (Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram) as a result of Rahul Gandhi’s growing national popularity.” “He (PM Modi) is scared because he (Rahul Gandhi) knows he will be the prime minister in 2024,” he continued.

On Tuesday, PM Modi called Gandhi the leader of stupid people over the latter’s remark that Indians mostly use China-made mobile phones.

“Yesterday, a Congress’s wise man was saying that the people of the country only have made in China mobile. Arre ‘moorkhon ke sardar’, which world do you live in? Congress leaders are afflicted with the mental disease of ignoring India’s achievements. I wonder what foreign glasses they have worn that they are not able to see in India,” he said without directly naming Gandhi.

He also claimed India was the second largest manufacturer of mobile phones in the world.

Gandhi asserted at an election rally on Monday that his party aimed to turn India into a global manufacturing powerhouse.

“‘Made in China’ is written behind the back of your cell phone, your shirt, and your shoes. Have you noticed the tags “made in Madhya Pradesh” on shirts and behind the scenes? We wish to carry out this task,” he declared.

Gandhi asserted at a Madhya Pradesh rally on Tuesday that Amit Shah, the home minister, and Prime Minister Modi had stolen the state’s government.

On November 17, Madhya Pradesh will hold elections. On December 3, there will be a vote count.
