Udupi: Acting on credible intelligence, the Manipal police raided an apartment in Perampalli, Shivalli village, and apprehended two individuals allegedly involved in a prostitution racket.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Raghunandan (40) from Koppa in Chikkamagaluru district and Amina Begum (55) from Harihara in Davanagere district. The operation, carried out on Saturday, was led by inspector Devaraj TV.
During the raid, authorities rescued a woman believed to be a victim of the racket. The detained suspects were presented in court and have been remanded to judicial custody.
However, the prime accused, Ravish, a resident of Hassan district, remains on the run. Efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend him.
