Pune Teen Seeks Return of Passport and Porsche in Hit-and-Run Case

A 17-year-old boy from Pune, accused in a high-profile Porsche hit-and-run case, has requested the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) to return his passport and the luxury car, both of which were seized during the investigation. The incident, which occurred on May 19, resulted in the tragic deaths of two IT engineers, Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta.

The teen, alleged to have been driving the Porsche under the influence of alcohol, collided with the motorcycle carrying Awadhiya and Koshta. Following the fatal accident, the Pune Police Crime Branch placed the boy in a juvenile correctional facility.

On Wednesday, the boy’s defence lawyer, Prashant Patil, submitted an application to the JJB requesting the return of the passport. Patil stated, “Yes, we have filed an application to retrieve my client’s passport and the Porsche, assuming there is nothing further to investigate regarding the vehicle.”

The application for the return of the Porsche was previously filed in June by the defence, and the car has remained in police custody since then. The teen’s family has argued that, since the accused has been granted bail and has complied with court requirements, including submitting a 300-word essay as instructed, the vehicle should be returned.
