The tragic incident in Kallur village, Sirwar taluk, Raichur district, has claimed another life, raising the death toll to five. Mallamma (23), who was hospitalized on August 1 after consuming food suspected to be contaminated, succumbed to her condition on Thursday at the Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).
The incident began on August 1 when four members of the same family tragically passed away. Bheemanna (60) suffered a heart attack, while Eeramma (57), Mallesh (21), and Parvathi (19) all died of multi-organ failure. Mallamma’s death has deepened the mystery surrounding this case.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the deaths, with a strong suspicion that pesticide may have been mixed into their food. The district administration and the police are awaiting forensic reports to confirm the cause of death.
This incident has shocked the community, and there is growing concern as the investigation continues.
