The body of a 55-year-old woman was discovered on Saturday in the Tungabhadra Left Bank Canal near Hanchinal (U) village, located in Sindhanur taluk.
The deceased has been identified as Sharannamma Hemanna Nayaka Ratnapur Hatti. Preliminary information indicates that she had been grappling with mental health challenges.
Authorities have filed a case at the Turvihal police station, and investigations are currently in progress to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
