
Ratan Naval Tata, Visionary Leader of Tata Group, Passes Away at 86
New Delhi: Ratan Naval Tata, the esteemed former chairman of the Tata Group and a towering figure in Indian industry, passed away late Wednesday night at the age of 86. He had been receiving treatment for a prolonged illness at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital.
In a heartfelt statement, Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran expressed the profound loss felt by many, stating, “Mr. Ratan Naval Tata was a remarkable leader whose significant contributions have shaped not just the Tata Group but the very essence of our nation.” He emphasized Tata’s exemplary leadership, noting his steadfast commitment to excellence, integrity, and innovation, which allowed the Tata Group to expand globally while adhering to its ethical principles.
Chandrasekaran also highlighted Tata’s philanthropic efforts, which have profoundly impacted millions. “His initiatives in education and healthcare have created a lasting legacy that will benefit future generations,” he remarked.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his respects to Tata, describing him as “a visionary business leader, a compassionate soul, and an extraordinary human being.” The Prime Minister acknowledged Tata’s stable leadership within one of India’s oldest and most respected business families, while also recognizing his humble nature and dedication to improving society at large.
