Mangaluru: To manage the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during the Onam festival, Southern Railway has scheduled a series of special trains between Mangaluru Junction and Thiruvananthapuram North as well as Kollam Junction.

Mangaluru–Thiruvananthapuram Specials

Train No. 06041, a Bi-Weekly Special Express, will depart Mangaluru Junction at 7:30 p.m. on August 21, 23, 28, 30 and September 4, 6, 11, 13 (Thursdays and Saturdays), reaching Thiruvananthapuram North at 8:00 a.m. the following morning.

Return service, Train No. 06042, will leave Thiruvananthapuram North at 5:15 p.m. on August 22, 24, 29, 31 and September 5, 7, 12, 14, arriving at Mangaluru Junction by 6:30 a.m. the next day.

Mangaluru–Kollam Specials

Train No. 06047 from Mangaluru Junction to Kollam Junction will operate at 9:15 p.m. on August 25, September 1, and 8 (Mondays), reaching Kollam at 10:20 a.m. next day.

Return service, Train No. 06048, will leave Kollam Junction at 5:10 p.m. on August 26, September 2 and 9 (Tuesdays), arriving at Mangaluru Junction by 5:30 a.m. the next day.

Each of these special trains will include:

  • 1 AC 2-tier coach

  • 2 AC 3-tier coaches

  • 17 sleeper class coaches

  • 2 second-class luggage-cum-brake vans
