Udaipur: Donald Trump Jr, the businessman son of US President Donald Trump, is expected to arrive in India this weekend to attend a lavish destination wedding in Rajasthan’s Udaipur. Sources in the Rajasthan Police told NDTV that a security advance team from a US agency has already reached the city to review arrangements ahead of his possible visit.
The high-profile wedding of an Indian American couple is scheduled for November 21 and 22, with ceremonies planned at some of Udaipur’s grandest heritage venues. The main wedding ceremony will take place at the iconic Jag Mandir Palace, located on an island in Lake Pichola, while other festivities will be held at Manek Chowk inside the City Palace complex.
According to sources, Trump Jr will be staying at the luxurious Leela Palace Udaipur, one of the city’s most exclusive lakeside hotels known for hosting global dignitaries.
Security tightened across Udaipur
Udaipur Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal confirmed that the administration has begun implementing enhanced security protocols across the city. The police will remain on high alert throughout the two-day festivities, especially along the route from Maharana Pratap Airport to the Lake Pichola waterfront.
Several VIPs, including politicians, business leaders and Indian celebrities, are expected to attend, further necessitating the heightened security measures. Barricading, route sanitisation and waterfront security checks have been stepped up in anticipation of the movements of high-profile guests.
The presence of a US security team has also prompted coordination between central and state agencies to manage safety protocols, convoy movement and access control at event venues.
Jag Mandir Palace and City Palace prepared for grand festivities
The wedding’s main events are set to unfold at two of Udaipur’s most celebrated landmarks:
- Jag Mandir Palace:
A 17th-century island palace often used for royal gatherings and elite weddings, offering panoramic views of Udaipur’s skyline and the surrounding Aravalli ranges. - Manek Chowk, City Palace:
An expansive courtyard known for its regal architecture, frequently chosen for receptions and pre-wedding functions.
According to organisers, these venues will host an array of traditional and modern celebrations, accompanied by elaborate decor, immersive cultural performances and high-end hospitality.
Udaipur’s rising profile as a celebrity wedding hub
Udaipur, often called the “City of Lakes”, has firmly established itself as one of India’s top luxury wedding destinations. Surrounded by shimmering lakes and the Aravalli Hills, the city offers a fusion of regal heritage and natural beauty.
Over the past decade, Udaipur has hosted several high-profile weddings, including:

- Pre-wedding festivities of Isha Ambani
Hotels such as Taj Lake Palace, Oberoi Udaivillas, The Leela Palace and The Lalit Laxmi Vilas Palace frequently host international dignitaries, celebrities and billionaire families for weddings and large-scale events.
A significant weekend for the city
The upcoming wedding is expected to bring a surge of activity to Udaipur, with security, logistics and hospitality arrangements operating at peak capacity. For the city’s tourism and event industry, the presence of figures like Donald Trump Jr further enhances Udaipur’s global visibility as a premier luxury destination.
Authorities confirmed that all key arrangements are being finalised and that the city is prepared for a smooth and secure hosting of the high-profile celebrations.
