Udyavara: Fisheries Minister Mankala S Vaidya met with the grieving family of Neeladhar G Thingalaya, a fisherman from Pitrodi, Udupi, who tragically lost his life when his boat overturned at sea on Friday, July 11.
The Minister personally consoled the family and handed over a compensation cheque as part of the government’s support to families affected by maritime tragedies. The gesture aimed to provide emotional and financial relief during a time of deep sorrow.
Several dignitaries were present at the event, including MLAs Yashpal S Suvarna and Gurme Suresh Shetty, as well as Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, the District President of the Guarantee Scheme Implementation Authority. The leaders expressed solidarity with the fisherman’s family and reiterated their commitment to supporting coastal communities.
