Google Unveils New Chromebooks with AI-Powered Features to Enhance Productivity
Google has officially launched two innovative Chromebooks: the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus and the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 11. These devices come equipped with cutting-edge AI features aimed at boosting productivity and making everyday tasks more efficient. Starting at a competitive price of $350, the Chromebooks are integrated with Google’s Gemini model, which includes tools like Help Me Read and Live Translate.
Priced at $699, the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus is designed for users seeking a lightweight, portable device. Weighing just 2.58 pounds and measuring less than half an inch thick, it ranks among the thinnest and lightest Chromebooks available. The device boasts an Intel Core i3 100U (Raptor Lake-R) processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage, providing ample power for multitasking and everyday usage.
One of the standout features of the Galaxy Chromebook Plus is its impressive 15.6-inch OLED screen, which delivers sharp, vibrant visuals ideal for work, entertainment, and casual browsing. Users can also enjoy a robust battery life of up to 13 hours, ensuring a full day of productivity without the need to recharge.
A unique addition to this model is the Quick Insert key, a dedicated button that provides quick access to essential tools. This feature includes shortcuts for writing assistance, inserting emojis or GIFs, and adding links without the hassle of switching between windows. While currently exclusive to the Samsung model, this key will be available on other Chromebooks next year.
The Lenovo Chromebook Duet 11 is a versatile device starting at $339, designed to switch seamlessly between laptop and tablet modes thanks to its built-in kickstand. It features a 10.95-inch WUXGA touchscreen display, powered by a MediaTek Kompanio 838 processor. With options for up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, it offers solid performance for daily tasks, including web browsing, streaming, and document editing.
For users who need to stay connected, the Duet 11 is equipped with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, perfect for video conferencing or capturing photos. Additionally, it supports the Lenovo USI Pen 2 (sold separately), making it an excellent choice for precise note-taking and sketching.
Google has enhanced all Chromebook Plus models with several new AI tools. The Help Me Read feature provides summaries of PDFs, articles, and websites, allowing users to highlight sections for better comprehension. Live Translate enables real-time translation of content in over 100 languages, facilitating smoother communication across different languages.
The Recorder app adds further value by transcribing audio and generating summaries of recordings. Additionally, video calls are improved with AI-powered enhancements, such as studio-style microphone simulation and adjustments for better lighting and sound quality. These features will be rolled out automatically throughout October.
With the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus and Lenovo Chromebook Duet 11, Google continues to push the boundaries of productivity in the Chromebook space. The integration of AI tools not only simplifies tasks but also enhances the overall user experience. Whether for work, study, or leisure, these new devices are set to meet the needs of a diverse range of users.
