More positive news comes from the Bajaj Auto’s Annual General Meeting, as the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 is reportedly nearing its launch. Managing Director, Bajaj Auto, Rajiv Bajaj is reported to have confirmed that the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 is all set to be launched in just weeks ahead in August 2016, which was earlier reported to have been slated for a Q3 launch.
The launch of the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 is highly anticipated, as it is the Pulsar model with the highest and the most powerful displacement ever. And it’s going to be available at an attractive and affordable price of just Rs. 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom), marginally below the KTM Duke 390 priced around Rs. 1.90-1.96 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 is reportedly built on the KTM Duke 390 platform with a slightly altered displacement of 373.2 cc in a liquid-cooled engine, much like the Duke 390. The design is also inspired from both the KTM Duke 390 and the standard Pulsar. The CS400 is likely to have a similar design in the front with the bulky and chiseled fuel tank, as it has always been with the Pulsar. The rear will take after the KTM Duke 390. Still, much difference couldn’t be made out of the rear of the Pulsar CS 400, except for the lean tail of the Duke. The design in production form was already flaunted at the 2014 Auto Expo.
So, the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 will not be developed from the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 platform, as was reported earlier. It is confirmed to have been built from the KTM Duke 390. The transmission will be top notch with a 6-speed gearbox, mated to the 373.2 cc, liquid-cooled engine.
