Mahindra has offered its Scorpio SUV with a new mild hybrid system christened as “Intelli-Hybrid”. The new Intelli-Hybrid system of Mahindra is the advanced version of the company’s “Micro-Hybrid” technology. Mahindra has priced the S10 2WD variant of the Scorpio Intelli-Hybrid at Rs.12.84 lakhs (ex-showroom, Navi Mumbai).
Intelli-hybrid technology provides electrical assistance to the engine during acceleration in addition to the automatic start/stop, regenerative braking system, a large capacity battery, and a different starter motor.. The function is almost similar to the SHVS mild-hybrid system of Maruti. Mahindra claims Scorpio’s fuel efficiency will increase by 7% with this new system.
The new hybrid system of Mahindra is available only on the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine variants of Scorpio equipped with Manual gearbox. Hence, the 1.99-litre diesel engine equipped variants along with the S2, S10 AT and S10 4WD AT trims of Scorpio will not be getting this new hybrid system.
