Los Angeles: On Friday, the SpaceX Dragon cargo replenishment spacecraft made its way back to Earth carrying hardware and samples for scientific study.
Xinhua News Agency said that NASA stated that Dragon undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) on Thursday at 5:05 p.m. Eastern Time (2205 GMT).
On Friday, after nearly 20 hours of flight, Dragon successfully landed off the coast of Florida, USA, with the help of a parachute.
NASA reported that Dragon returned to Earth with over 4,300 pounds (1,950 kg) of supplies and scientific experiments intended to benefit from the microgravity environment of the space station.
On November 9, Dragon took off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
The spacecraft arrived at the ISS on Nov. 11 as SpaceX’s 29th commercial resupply services mission for NASA, delivering about 6,500 pounds of research investigations, crew supplies and station hardware.
