Shivamogga: Sunita Annappa and Ganni Shankar has been elected as a new mayor and deputy mayor of Shivamogga.
Sunita S K V Annappa, who contested for the election at Palije Hall, got 25 votes and her opponent Rekha Ranganath from Congress got 11 votes.
Shankar Ganni, who contested for the post of deputy mayor, got 24 votes. RC Naik, who contested as an opponent, got 12 votes.
Of 35 corporation votes, the BJP has 24 members, the Congress 8, JDS 2 and SDPI 1 votes.
